The Queensland Government's new iPhone app, Sun Effects Booth, shows how your current behaviour in the sun can damage your face in the future. By downloading the app, you will see the potential ageing and damage done to your skin.

The app asks a series of questions about how you protect yourself in the sun, including choice of hat and clothing; and sunscreen, sunglass and shade use. Then take or upload a picture of your face and watch it transform into a prediction of your future face. Complete the app again and see how small changes in your sun safe behaviour can change the future look of your face either for the better or the worse.

The app also allows users to check the daily UV Index forecast for their local area to see how strong the sun is and when the UV Index reaches 3 and sun protection is required.

If you're concerned about your skin cancer risk and how sun exposure can age your face, then this app is for you.

Protect yourself in five ways from skin cancer. Wear sun protective clothing, a broad-brimmed hat and sunglasses, seek shade and apply SPF 30+ broad spectrum sunscreen every two hours. Sun protection in Queensland is important all year round as UV levels are consistently above 3, even throughout winter.
